INTEGRATED FLOOD RESILIENCE & ADAPTATION PROJECT
As the foundation of the project, this component strengthens coordination, operational management, and capacity building. Led by the Federal Project Management Unit (FPMU), it drives collaboration between government, donors, and implementing units while ensuring effective execution of all components.
This component plays a critical role in ensuring the successful implementation of IFRAP by overseeing project execution, operational planning, and financial management. It provides strategic direction for all project activities, ensuring alignment with national policies and global best practices. Through robust monitoring and evaluation mechanisms, it upholds quality assurance, ensuring efficiency and transparency in project delivery. Additionally, it supports institutional capacity building, strengthens policy development, and fosters collaboration between government agencies, international partners, and community stakeholders. By serving as a central coordination hub, this component ensures streamlined operations and maximized impact across all project interventions.
FPMU is instrumental in the success and sustainability of IFRAP. By consolidating expertise of project management, strategic coordination, quality assurance, policy development, institutional capacity building, and stakeholder engagement, FPMU serves as a knowledge hub for Project Implementation Units (PIUs), addressing technical challenges with the highest level of proficiency across all the components of IFRAP.
A cornerstone of FPMU’s role, ensuring rigorous monitoring and evaluation frameworks so that every phase of the project adheres to established standards and objectives. This oversight is vital for maintaining project integrity, maximizing effectiveness, and optimizing resource utilization.
FPMU plays a crucial role in shaping long-term strategies for water resource management and disaster resilience, contributing to frameworks such as the Water Act. This ensures both short-term project success and long-term sustainability.
Through capacity-building workshops and training initiatives, FPMU enhances workforce skills, ensuring not only the effective implementation of the current project but also the development of a strong institutional foundation for future initiatives.
FPMU facilitates coordination between different levels of government and international agencies, including the World Bank, ensuring that project goals align with both local priorities and global best practices.
FPMU provides strategic planning and decision-making support to the Project Steering Committees at federal and provincial levels, ensuring that each component and subcomponent is well-planned and aligned with overall project objectives.
